Packings are used in many fields of process engineering and industry as a sealing system: “dynamic” (stuffing box for valves, pumps, piston rods and shafts) and “static” (seals for flanges, covers …).
Parameters for choosing the right packing are the kind of fluid, temperature, pressure, application (static or dynamic).
